The business of being in business

Running Around the Lake

So this last week, I was on vacation by a lake. And as you probably know, I exercise every day. So every morning of my vacation, I ran around the lake. But then one day, I decided to run the opposite direction around the lake than I had been going before. And I noticed so many new things that I hadn’t seen before! So the lesson I want to share with you is… switch it up. Go around the lake in the other direction.

In business and life, when you come up against a problem, instead of trying to tweak your existing process by going harder or faster or pushing a little more, instead try looking at the same problem from a different perspective. You’ll be surprised how much more you can see.

Applying to my own business, I am going to try to solve a problem I’m facing in my business (watch the video below to find out what) by looking at it from a different perspective. I am challenging you to do the same. Look at your issue from a new perspective.

And if you don’t think you got this because you’ve never done this before, try asking for help from someone who has done that thing before you. My sister has been running longer than me. So when I’m with her, she helps me not to fall (which I also did this week by the lake – full story in the video). It is OK to ask for help. It is not NOBLE to learn everything the hard way. Find a mentor, friend, author, or anyone else who can help get you to where you want to go.

SUMMIN’ IT UP

  1. Go around the lake in the other direction. Look at your problem from a new perspective.
  2. Find someone who has gone before you. Ask for help. It’s ok.

Now go out and do it this week. You got this, cause you are RAD!
