Yearly Email Planning – Start Earlier Than You Think You Should

If you’re reading this at the time of publication, it isn’t even November yet. You may not even know for sure what you’re going to send for Black Friday through Cyber Monday, let alone what you want to send in 2024.

And I’m here to tell you, this means…

You are behind.

It’s okay, many marketers are. Myself included! I’ve got big changes planned for 2024 that are directly going to impact the email marketing that we do for our business, yet I don’t even have a functional 2024 template ready to go yet (Thanks, Leap Year!).

But allllll that is about to change. You need to start your email planning sooner than you actually think you should. Even if you don’t know how you’re going to finish 2023, I want you to start planning your emails for 2024 RIGHT NOW.

Something is better than nothing

First of all, even if you end up with a rough sketch of a calendar year on a napkin, with a few new campaign ideas you want to try scribbled on it, that’s better than heading into the holiday break without ANY plan and then scrambling to come up with campaign concepts through the post-Christmas haze of overindulgence and too much entertaining.

You need that motivation

When you set big goals for any period of time, it can help you feel more motivated to finish the current phase you’re in strong (I’m ALL about that last 90 day sprint).

You can get support!

Probably the most important reason you need to start email marketing planning earlier than you think is because if you start early, you can GET HELP! Bounce ideas off your peers, ask for input from your team, spend an hour or two doing a little market research or engaging in a forum online. If you wait to the last minute to plan your email campaigns, you will act from a place of stress and overwhelm, resulting in “rinse and repeat” campaigns that are a sanitized version of last year’s… OR, you won’t send emails at all.

And you know I can’t abide that.

I’ve shared countless resources here on the blog to empower you to replicate the Erica Walter Writes aka Email Maven’s process for email planning. Like this onethis onethis one annnnnnd this one here.

But if you want to work with me to plan 2024 email campaigns, I’ve got a VERY fun way for you to do so…

Because the next edition of The Get Email Marketing Experience is a YEARLY PLANNING WORKSHOP, happening on November 8 from 10-11:30am PST.

For those of you who have been around a while, that’s a full month before we did this same thing last year.

This is your opportunity to knock Email Planning off your to-do list for the year ahead, with the help of somebody who has sent campaigns that have generated millions of dollars for small businesses, and to actually feel excited and inspired about sending emails for once. I’ll teach you my yearly planning process, then we’ll go deeper with implementation exercises and live Q&A to help you apply what you learn. Oh yea, and don’t forget all the resources and checklists I give you in your Playbook!

What you’ll get:

A Yearly Planning Process Workbook to help you record your learnings along the way ($99 value)
1.5 Action-Packed Hours of Teaching and Feedback – ($500 value)
Your Yearly Planning Playbook along with strategy worksheets and quality control checklists ($149 value)
TOTAL VALUE: $738
YOU PAY: $79

I believe that every business deserves to win with email, but too few businesses have a plan to get them those results. I know that this workshop will help your business succeed and grow. You will be given inspiration for DAYS during this session and you’ll walk away with a plan to crush the year ahead. If that sounds like just what you’ve been waiting for, well, you know what to do.

Whether we do this thang together or not, I hope you’ll listen to my plea and answer the charge:

Plan your emails for 2024 earlier than you think you’ll need to, and you will enjoy an even more successful (and LESS STRESSFUL) year!
